Closer to home than you could’ve ever imagined

Wednesday 23 of March 7 pm

Closer to home than you could’ve ever imagined is a program of Canadian artists’ films and videos linked together in their consideration of care, mental health and inner logics. Care, be it of and for the self, or from others, even institutional, passes through a questioning lens in these artists’ works. Belonging to interiority, mental health, its stigmas, diagnoses, and self-identified spectrums are lived and interrogated. Individual processes of identification are shared in some cases, and resisted in others. Some things fit, others don’t.
Featuring work by: Emily Vey Duke & Cooper Battersby, Leslie Supnet, Thirza Cuthand, John Forget, Mike Hoolboom, Deirdre Logue, and Steve Reinke.
Curated by Erik Martinson.
